Project Description
We recently completed modular classrooms in Lincolnshire, a two-storey modular classroom block. Following the successful delivery of the school’s dining hall extension, we moved on to Phase 2 of the project. Phase 2 involved the construction of a two-storey modular classroom block. This will provide eight new classrooms, toilet facilities and a double-height atrium area for group work.
Specially-designed modular classrooms in Lincolnshire
The school caters to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). They needed a high-quality finish that was specifically designed for their pupils. The school had strict budgets and timescales to meet, as well as planning restrictions and low-energy targets.
MPH were able to work together with the architects and the school to produce these modular classrooms in Lincolnshire “to be exceptionally proud of”.
Internally, the new school building included eight classrooms, toilet facilities and an area for group work. The walls and ceilings were decorated off-site to provide a traditional classroom appearance. Neutral colour schemes were used to provide a tranquil learning environment for pupils.
Stylish and energy efficient modular classrooms in Lincoln
We used traditional cladding methods to create a brick-effect appearance in line with planning permissions. We installed a stylish brise soleil canopy, along with aluminium-framed full-height windows. This allows the building to benefit from maximum natural light while minimising heat gain in the summer months.
We also created a ground-floor link to the main school building. The covered walkway allows pupils to move between buildings without being exposed to the “Great British weather”!
An EPC on the completed building shows that the project is highly energy-efficient. We installed LED lighting and controls, an efficient boiler for heating and hot water, as well as a sophisticated HVAC system. These energy-saving features will keep running costs low and ensure a comfortable working environment for the school’s students.
The team at MPH Building Systems worked hard to build and install the new modular classroom block in just 12 weeks. We delivered the project on time and within budget. Both staff and pupils are enjoying their stylish new workspace, and the school continues to thrive.
